Our practice has been providing specialist treatment for over 35 years on the Northern Beaches, nestled in Mona Vale and Dee Why.

Dr Jenkin Chiu carries on a strong legacy of specialist patient care and service established in 1980 by Dr John Martin. Our experienced team takes pride in the long-standing rapport that we have developed with local families and their local dentists.

Dr Jenkin J Chiu

Principal Orthodontist
BDSc(Hons), FRACDS(GDP), DClinDent(Orth), MRACDS(Orth), MOrtho RCSEd

Jenkin was born in Hong Kong and settled in Australia as a toddler.  When he completed schooling at Sydney Grammar School, he was accepted with a Melbourne National Scholarship to study Dentistry at the University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours.  Jenkin returned to Sydney and worked as a full-time private dentist for five years at multiple localities from Mosman to Green Valley to West Ryde, providing care to patients from all walks of life.

Jenkin completed his specialist degree in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney. During this time, he was invited to present his research thesis to an esteemed audience at the 90th Congress of the European Orthodontic Society in Warsaw, Poland.  With the same thesis, he also received the prestigious Elsdon Storey Research Award from the Australian Society of Orthodontists for the most meritorious student research paper in the country.

His training has equipped him with the knowledge and the techniques to manage orthodontic problems for children, teenagers and adults in the most efficient and simplest ways that are suitable for their lifestyles. Jenkin is meticulous, has an eye for detail, and does not stop until he has achieved the best results for all his patients. He is known to be a personable practitioner who is approachable and easy to get along with. Jenkin is always happy to offer any type of dental advice. Just ask!

Jenkin holds both a Fellowship (General Dental Practice) and Membership (Specialist Dental Practice in Orthodontics) with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) by examination. He has also achieved Membership in Orthodontics with The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh by examination. He is a member of local and international societies, including the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and the Manly Warringah Dental Study Group (MWDSG).

Jenkin enjoys the simpler things in life and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He loves spending his holidays in paradise island settings (if he can get there). He takes an interest in playing tennis, football (soccer), tabletop miniature war-gaming, scale model-making and improving his golf. However, such hobbies have all been put on indefinite hold since the birth of his baby daughter, Lily.

Dr Corina Molero

Associate Dentist
BDSc, MSc (Orthodontics) (Mexico)

Corina is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, where she received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. She has been actively involved in orthodontics since the beginning of her career. After graduating as a dentist, she studied a continuing professional development course in orthodontics whilst working full-time in a private orthodontic practice. Corina went on to complete postgraduate studies, attending a prestigious Masters in Orthodontics program in Mexico City to become a specialist orthodontist. She returned to her home country and worked full-time in a specialist private practice for five years, before making a new home in Sydney. She is proud to have completed the challenging accreditation and registration process under the Australian Dental Council. Corina is currently in the process of obtaining specialist registration. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and, based on her Mexican specialist registration, holds a World Federation of Orthodontists Membership and an American Association of Orthodontists Membership.

Corina always actively pursues continued professional education and training in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge on new techniques and advancing technologies. Each year she completes many hours of continuing orthodontic education, attending seminars and conferences both locally and internationally.

Corina is passionate about all aspects of orthodontics, with particular interest in the diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea in both children and adults.

Corina is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English. Outside the practice, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach, reading and watching films.

Meet our Team

Karen
Practice Manager

Karen hails from the north of England and came to us with a long demonstrated history of working within the dental health care industry in the UK, Ireland and Australia.

She is a fully qualified Oral Health Educator, Dental Nurse and Senior Administrator. Karen has lived and worked on the Northern Beaches for over 21 years since moving to Australia with her Australian husband and family.

During her spare time Karen loves to head to the beach and catching up with family and friends.

Amie
Treatment Co-Ordinator

Amie joined the team as a Clinical Assistant in 2017. After 3 years she transitioned into an administration role as Treatment Coordinator, drawing on her 10 years experience as an Executive Assistant.

Amie oversees the co-ordination between your treatment and our front office to ensure your treatment plan runs as smoothly as possible.

Amie grew up on the North Shore and Northern Beaches where she still lives with her husband and two young daughters.

Michelle
Treatment Co-Ordinator

Michelle oversees the co-ordination of treatment at the front office between our clinical staff and patients.

Michelle moved to Australia from the UK 14 years ago and joined our team back in 2009. She worked previously as a medical receptionist and senior administrator from which her experience provides the highest level of care to our patients.

In her spare time Michelle loves to cook up scrumptious meals with her Thermomix and walk her dog Belle.

 

Janine
Front Office Co-Ordinator

Janine has a wealth of experience in the dental industry.

She is one of the original members of the Northern Beaches Orthodontic team having worked with our founder, Dr John Martin for in excess of 30 years, prior to his retirement. She has continued working with Dr Jenkin Chiu since he overtook the legacy 6 years ago.

Janine and her family have lived on the Northern Beaches her whole life and has been an avid boating enthusiast for many years. Janine is a member of the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Newport.

Chris
Clinical Nurse

Chris has worked in the dental industry on the Northern Beaches for over 40 years. The last 30 years within Orthodontics.

She enjoys being a huge part of the transformations and watching our patients individual journeys and especially the joy on their faces when they see their results.

Chris is also an avid golfer currently playing off a14 handicap.

Rebecca
Clinical Nurse

Bec joins us from the UK after having travelled the world as a Professional Dancer, performing on cruise ships and dancing in some of the UK’s most famous and prestigious theatres.

Bec works as a clinical nurse at NBO where her caring and fun nature endears her to our patients. Bec thoroughly enjoys her new career and watching all of our patients amazing transformations.

 

Mariz
Clinical Nurse

Mariz joined our team as a clinical nurse in 2018 from the Philippines. She comes with a wide background of experience particularly in the virtual space where she had clients based all over the world.

Alongside this, she has worked in aviation, marketing, customer service and trained as a medical administrator at one of the top hospitals in Asia.

Mariz gave birth to beautiful twin baby girls in 2020 and is very much enjoying her time as a new mum.

Carmel
Sterilizing and Infection Control Nurse

Carmel is another of our well known faces, one of the original team members working at NBO for over 30 years. She assists our clinical nurses and helps to oversee the smooth running of our state of the art sterilising room and infection control system.

Carmel loves to spend her spare time sailing around Pittwater with her husband on their boat, and looking after her grandchildren.

Savannah
Junior Clinical Nurse

Savannah is new to dental nursing but has been interested in working in the orthodontic field for a few years.

Savannah has lived with her family on the northern beaches her whole life. She loves children, the ocean and spending time with her friends.
